children s book landon and the dragon adventures for children book 1 Reviews
Joy Fridman has written an endearing story of friendship and the quest for true courage in Landon and The Dragon. Landon has issues with his friends, self-esteem and his ‘not so great’ armor. But the advice of a unlikely friend shows Landon that real strength doesn’t lie in what you wear or what you hold, but what is within. He learns to face his fears and even discovers that sometimes they are not as scary as you imagine. A wonderful story for beginning readers with beautiful illustrations. 5 stars!
Landon and the Dragon is a charming children's book. It has wonderful illustrations and a suprisingly original storyline!
(Source: Downloaded for free from Amazon.co.uk.)This was an okay story, and I think it was about bullying? I don’t know, because there was more than one thing going on. First Landon was bullied by other kids for his armour being weak, then he went to find the dragon (shedding his armour along the way), to find that the dragon was actually nice, but then the dragon says how brave he was to come without his armour. And there was also a talking hummingbird. In my opinion there was a bit too much going on, and I couldn’t easily say what the story was about. Was it the bullying? What it about not needing protection from things? Was it about being brave? And what was the talking hummingbird about? I’m wondering if this confused my little boy as well, because he wasn’t the biggest fan of this one.6 out of 10
children's book: Landon and the Dragon (Adventures for Children) by Joy FridmanIllustrated colorful children's book about Landon who is a knight and he has many friends who are the same. One holiday he leaves the castle and notices the fire breathing dragon and his friends make sun of his armor. He starts walking towards where the dragon lives...he meets up with a hummingbird who talks to him about not being sad anymore. She talks him into getting rid of his armor when it becomes really hot out and he does other things to make him look like a regular person. What he learns next is priceless.Other works by the author are linked at the end.
The book is magical and captivating. I enjoyed reading about little and brave Landon's journey. The story is sensitive and charming, and the illustrations are so beautiful and suitable for the journey.I was moved by the writer's ability to connect to the children's world and the fears that accompany childhood. From this connection the story equips the tender minds of the children with tools to deal with fears, along with the ability to break free of them through the identification, communication, and trust in nature and the goodness of the universe.Highly recommended for children and adults who keep the inner child in them.
Rating: 10.0/10.0Review: This book was beautifully illustrated by Karen Dishaw. The story line hooked in with the beautiful images made this book a hit with my kids. Landon goes on an adventure and learns to build his own self-confidence while learning to be accepted as he is, and not what others think of him. I read it to my kids and they understood the moral of the story without any coaching from me. I’d say that’s about as clear as you can get with a children’s book! I’d recommend this story to anyone who has kids!Reviewed by IABookReviews.com
Looking for great kids book... this is one!Looking for an economical, awesome morale character and a good read with your child. This is one great choice. My son suffers from a paternal genetic dislike to read. haha just laugh it funny, any hoo. I'm forever looking for books to enjoy and word familiarize. there are just enough picture to entertain and not distract. He really like this one and asks frequently for it.
The storyline is pretty good with a nice message. Unfortunately, needs a little work to get it to 5 stars.
